I am a Brit living in the USA, and we are sending items in the mail all the time. Visiting the post office is not a strange thing for us. Ordering items online for delivery to our family and friends is also not a strange thing for us. It has become a part of our lives. With the COVID pandemic I realized that we have all become even more isolated.
My daughter and my Mum live in the UK and have not been able to visit now for 2 years. Its when you do not see an end that you want to do even more. My son had just moved into his own house, renting with two close friends. He took a lot of stuff with him, but we wanted to get him out fitted with bedroom furniture, a couch and dining room table. My mum wanted to help so she gladly sent him a few dollars to add to the pot to get him set up. He wanted to express his thanks and I thought that a letter in the mail would be so much better than a phone call or a quick text.
He hand wrote the letter, and we popped in the envelope, went to the post office and mailed it. It was at that point that I realized, that it would be really handy if he could have typed the letter (it would have been a lot longer), and could have submitted it to a service that would have printed it and mailed it with a hand written envelope. There are websites that send out greeting cards and other goodies, but nothing that allows you to type a letter and to have it personally printed, sealed and mailed.
So the concept of Honey Letters began…
